Views

A View is a graphical environment, rather like a drawing, where your Users can arrange Products visually, in a way that you determine and which makes sense for your custom application.

View Types

A Project can contain as many drawings as you need, of any of the following view types — you choose which are available in your application and which are added to new projects by default:

  • Block
  • Panel Layout
  • Schematic
  • Cable
  • DWG (AutoCAD)
  • Rack Layout
  • Plan and Pictorial Schematic
  • Classic variants (Classic Block Schematic, Classic Pictorial Schematic, Classic Panel Layout, Classic Rack Layout, Classic Plan)

What you can do on a View

  • Place products from the Product Browser and arrange them by dragging, aligning, distributing and rotating.
  • Draw shapes — rectangles, lines, paths, circles, ellipses, polylines and polygons — and add text and images.
  • Connect products with lines or cables that glue to a product’s anchors and ports and follow the product when it moves.
  • Mount products into racks and enclosures.
  • Toggle a grid overlay, zoom and pan, and undo/redo every change.
  • Collaborate in real time — other Users editing the same Project see your changes live.

Read-only Viewer

Any View can also be presented in a clean, read-only Viewer — ideal for showing a customer or embedding a drawing elsewhere — with all the editing tools removed.
